The first stage, before the actual drawing begins, includes a period
of concentration during which the subject is formulated, and perhaps
the finalized image is imagined. The sketch is then done very quickly,
without stopping to think, or seeing the drawing.
Repeating this action creates a learning process regarding new starting
points. The drawing technique develops through the repetition and
becomes “skilled”, indicating the setting of new rules,
which disregard information concerning reality.
